Copper's Golden Acres CGC SR WC
"Copper"

Copper as a couch potatoe...he also loves to relax. He was born in July, 1997.
Copper is our third Golden Retrievers. We bought him from a wonderful family who wanted to
share the experience of birthing puppies with their children and had no thoughts of bloodlines,
temperament, skin allergies, conformation or any of the things that we have learned, over the
years, are vital to a healthy happy dog. His father was a professional field Golden who works on a hunting preserve,
his mother a pretty sweet Golden girl. Consequently we have a tall, gangly, nervous hunting
dog with the best nose, fantastic drive in the field, and, as a puppy, had a very pretty head. He had run with
his litter until we brought him home at eleven weeks. We later learned that a puppy's mind really
starts to develop at seven weeks. Individual one-on-one socialization throughout the day is so important in raising a puppy who will easily blend into the human family. He was a difficult puppy
to raise and it may have been due to lack of socialization and lack of high quality lines. He taught Lee so much about training!
And he taught us about being loyal to a prickly personality, just because he needed us and we understood him.
He has his Started Title from NAHRA and his WC title
from the Golden Retriever Club of America as well as his Canine Good
Citizens Certificate. He is neutered now and has mellowed some but still
is a top notch pheasant hunting dog. He has taken a new place in the
family now that we have more dogs. His all time passion remains field
retrieves. When he cannot be retrieving, his favorite place is at the
feet of one of us, nestled near by for some love.
